It’s about coming of age in a society that is, slowly and surely, disintegrating. The girls hear his screams and desperately try to help him, but Robert knows he is bleeding to death. (Nell is very much his daughter.) [9] The film played for one week in 15 theaters where it grossed nearly $10,000. One thing that was different about this book is that the writing is so unique, its like the character from the beginning is telling then story but instead of using my she uses me. Together with their father, Robert (Callum Keith Rennie), Nell and Eva live in an isolated Modernist lair in the Pacific Northwest (the movie was shot in British Columbia) that looks ready for its Dwell magazine spread. Hannah grows old but seems to have a lonely life, never fully able to assimilate into society. [1], “Where were me parents?
